One year ends and another starts with the Celebration of Kwanzaa* 2024: a night of unity and action.
On December 28:th, CelebratingPPL sponsored a Kwanzaa-24 celebration event at Kafé 44 in Stockholm. This second annual event brought together people to honor culture, community, and shared purpose and we were so very happy to be part of it.
The evening featured live performances, workshops, cultural discussions, and delicious vegetarian African cuisine. More than just a celebration, the event emphasized reflection and action, with proceeds supporting a fundraiser for Congo and Palestine.
Seeing people connect, share stories, and work towards a common goal made it clear why Kwanzaa remains so vital to the African community. At its heart, Kwanzaa is a time for collective growth, a moment to pause and ask:
- How to support one another?
- How to strengthen the bonds as a community?
- How to embody the principle of Ujima (unity) in daily life?
The answers were found not only in the conversations shared but also in the laughter, the music, and the determination of everyone present to leave the world a little better than they found it.
Mark your calendar for next year—this is a celebration you don't want to miss! CelebratingPPL will definitely show up, to give our support.
*Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African-American culture from December 26 to January 1. Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966. Each of the seven days of Kwanzaa is dedicated to one principle.
